 Have you been watching ABC24 news? This new publically funded television service has, according to ABC Managing Director Mark Scott, been created without spending any extra money. But he has declined to release the budget or the figuring.

Meanwhile there are plenty of people inside the ABC - my sources - who worry that ABC journalistic talent is being spread more and more thinly.

I'd like to put in a Freedom of Information request for the costings of the new service. 



 I am a journalist with close to 30 years experience, including working for The Age and The Australian. At present, I write on media for Crikey.

 If this story is funded, I will provide readers with a blow by blow description of the progress of my request through my blog, The Content Makers.

Any resulting story will be reported in full on Crikey.com.au, and will be available for publication by anyone else who wants it. I will also provide images of all the documents released in response to the FoI request.
